My New Cable TV Talk Show

Spirit of the Berkshires
Beginning on July 28, I’m hosting a new Talk Show here in the Southern Berkshires called “Spirit of the Berkshires”. It’s filmed by CTSB-TV, and the first broadcast will be at 6:30 Tuesday night on channel 16 (it will run about ten times during the week).
Here’s the info on the show from the Press Release:
“According to Andrew Cort, the show’s producer and host: ‘During the upcoming weeks, I’ll be interviewing people with interesting ideas and impressive achievements in many fields of human endeavor, including the Arts, Science, Religion, Politics, Economics and Education. In our conversations, we’ll be looking for thoughtfulness, creativity and passion, as well as practicality. We hope the discussions will be entertaining and fun, but also filled with real substance.’
“In the first installment of the show, airing this week, Cort interviews Louisa Gilder, the acclaimed author of The Age of Entanglement: When Quantum Physics was Reborn (Knopf, 2008). The book discusses the history and personalities of the giants of modern physics – Einstein, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrodinger, John Bell, and others – and in the context of conversations among these scientists, readers get a feel for the real process of scientific discovery. On the program, Gilder describes the transition from the classical scientific point of view to the contemporary view, the paradox of waves and particles, the strange and surprising concept of “entanglement”, and its astounding applications to cryptography and quantum computing.”
On the second show, I interview Jack Brown, a wonderful bass-baritone, and the Artistic Director of Berkshire Lyric.
Please tune in if you’re in the area. If not, there are two upcoming options. (1) I’ll be bringing the tapes to several other Massachusetts and NYS public access cable stations soon, and (2) As soon as I figure out how to do it, I’ll get the shows up on my website,
For now, on CTSB-TV, each episode of Spirit of the Berkshires will be shown weekly on CTSB’s Channel 16 on the following days and times: Tuesday, 6:30pm; Wednesday, 12:00am, 12:30pm, and 10:00pm; Friday, 10:00pm; Saturday, 7:00pm; Sunday, 2:00pm and 7:30pm; Monday, 10:30am and 8:30pm; and Tuesday, 4:30am.
